Talk

Dear staff and students,

Greetings!

The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) UTAR is organising a talk featuring Associate Prof. Lin, Yu-Hsia from the Department of Special Education of National Chiayi University Taiwan (NCYU) on 'Quality Education and Job Opportunities in the field of Special Education'. 

 

This Talk will address the quality of teacher training in special education and future employment trends. Dr Lin got a PhD at the Ohio State University, U.S.A. Besides, her research interests involve the areas of literacy, language development, and deafness. She has published several scholarly papers on the language and literacy development of individuals with severe to profound hearing impairment.

The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) UTAR is organising a talk featuring Professor Cheng-Cheng Yang from Master Program of Educational Administration and Policy Development of National Chiayi University Taiwan on 'Transformations of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education of Taiwan'  

 

This Talk will address the current status and challenges faced by Taiwanese higher education. These challenges include covid-19, technology usage, new teaching model, bilingual instruction, new program, and internationalisation. This Talk will depict the transformation of teaching and learning that the speaker observed in Taiwan's higher education in the last five years. These transformations can be linked to the new definition of high-quality higher education.

We are proud to announce the return of the Online Teaching & Learning (OTL) Forum 3.0, after getting the overwhelming feedback and positive outcomes from the previous sessions. The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) supported by the Division of Programme Promotion (DPP), UTAR will be organising a one-day Symposium on Science Education 2021 (SoSE 2021). Details are as follows;

Date: 4 September 2021 (Saturday)

Time: 9.00am to 5.00pm

Platform: Zoom

The Symposium on Science Education 2021 (SoSE 2021), now into its 7th year, aims once again to showcase different ideas and techniques on innovative and effective teaching methods for STEM subjects. 

With the theme of “Fathoming the STEM Education towards Innovative and Intellectual Sustainability", the symposium takes cognizance of the fact that digital technologies are part of innovative teaching methods in order to facilitate the teaching and learning of STEM to engage students' learning especially during pandemic era.

Through sharing and talks by various speakers, the symposium aims to offer take-home tips to educators on teaching and motivating/ stimulating young learners’ interest in STEM subjects/courses.

The Symposium shall involve sharing of teaching method/ tools by winners of the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Science Education Award, followed by lecturers / instructors / facilitators from Teacher’s Training Colleges / Universities and Excellent Teaching Award school teachers.
